ANYONE CAN I BE A LEADER..

I have become a leader for rights of the handicapped. I'm just a run of the mill person that decided one day to volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy. So I started to teach math, reading, sewing, craft and cooking. I intermingled with the clients and on many occasions talked about their personal life. Over time I develop individual relationships with them. People at the agency were amazed in the change in the clients on the days I was there. They were excited, sat up straight, participated in the groups and for the first time wanted to challenge themselves to do something different.
Everyone commented on my work. But I didn't think it was anything special. Then it dawned on me on what I was doing. These people never had anyone to talk to them as a person, listen to what they had to say and treat as individuals. I thought by God I was starting to be a leader. So I thought of people who had made an impression in my life. And they were all leaders. They were sincere, listened, gave me hope,
Never said "you can't do that", but we will find a way to do that. Were honest, led a good life, were involved, stood up for me and guided me in the right direction. The best is to be honest and sincere, don't sugar coat anything, people are not dumb and they can see right through this. Change the attitude “what in it for me", but how I can change someone’s life by being a good leader.
