a dwarf standing on the shoulders of a giant may see farther than a giant himself

"a dwarf standing on the shoulders of a giant may see farther than a giant himself" This version credit is given to Didacus Stella.

Gives us that reminder that for growth, you grow from what has already been learned/created. If you ignore what has all ready been learned at best you will get what has all ready been learned/created. On the other hand if you learn from and start from what has all ready been done then you can go farther.

In my leadership training that means, I want to learn as much as possible from others experiences. I study leadership through reading lots of books, audio books, book summaries, and through personal discussions with other leaders I know.

For my business ventures that means, I gather mentors (giants) that have already been successful in the venture that I am getting into, and I learn from what they have done. Learn from what is working or has worked for them and learn from what did not work for them, this lets me skip ahead in my own learning process giving me a better chance for success.

I try to gather as many giants I can in every thing I do "surround your self with people smarter then your self" is another quote that comes to mind.

In my life I will stand on the shoulders of many giants, and hope that I can help lift others up as well
